Effective date: 20 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit stagedaw.com (the "Website"), buy a license, or use the StageDAW application (the "App"). It is written to meet the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Slovak Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on Personal Data Protection.
"Personal data" means any information relating to an identified or identifiable person. "Processing" means anything done with such data, from collecting it to deleting it.
We apply this policy, and the standard the GDPR sets, to everyone who uses the Website or the App, wherever they live.
The controller of your personal data is:
StageDAW, a sole trader registered in Slovakia.
Email: [email protected]
The operator’s name, postal address, company ID, register entry and supervisory authority are in section 12.
We have not appointed a data protection officer, as the law does not require one for an activity of this size. Please direct all privacy questions and requests to the email address above.
We process only the data listed here. We collect it directly from you, automatically when you use the Website or the App, or from the service providers named in section 5.
a) Website visitor data. When you open a page, the web server records your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser and operating system. This is standard server logging.
b) Analytics data. Visitor numbers are counted by Cloudflare Web Analytics, which records the page visited, the page that linked to it, the approximate location (country), and the device and browser type. It sets no cookie, stores nothing in your browser and creates no identifier that follows you between websites or between visits. We cannot identify you from it.
c) Purchase data. When you buy a license, our merchant of record Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email address, billing country, VAT number where applicable, and payment details. Lemon Squeezy shares with us your name, your email address, the order number and the license key issued. We never receive your card or bank details.
d) Trial data. When you press Start Trial in the App, the App sends a SHA-256 hash of your computer's hardware identifier to our trial server, once. The server stores the hash and the date. The hash cannot be reversed into the identifier and is not linked to a name, an email address or an IP address that we retain. This request is made once per computer, ever.
e) License activation data. When you activate a license, the App sends your license key and the name of your computer to Lemon Squeezy's license service, which records the activation. Deactivating sends the same data to release the activation. The key and the activation record are also stored locally on your computer.
f) Correspondence. When you write to us, we process your email address, your name if you give it, the content of your message and any attachment. If you attach a show log, it contains the versions of StageDAW, your operating system and your DAW, and a timed record of the App's exchange with the DAW during a performance, in which songs are identified by their position in the setlist and markers by number. It contains no song names, notes or cues. If you use the contact form on the Support page, the subject, your message and the email address you choose to give are delivered to us by our email provider, Resend; the Website itself stores nothing. The form is checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, which confirms that a person and not a bot is sending it. It runs silently, shows you nothing and never asks you to solve a puzzle; it reads a small signal from your browser to make that judgement, described in Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
g) Update check data. When you start the App while your computer is online, the App asks our Website once whether a newer version exists. That request reaches our web server like any page request (item a) and also names the App you are running (StageDAW Mac or StageDAW Win) and its version number. It carries no identifier of you or your computer. If your computer is offline at that moment, no request is made. A newer version is downloaded only when you choose Download in the App.
What the App does not collect. The App has no user account, no analytics, no crash reporting; its only update check is the one described in item g). It never transmits your Show files, your DAW projects, your setlists, audio, or any information about what you play. Apart from the two requests described in d) and e), the App does not connect to the internet.
Under Article 6 GDPR, each processing activity needs a legal basis. Ours are:
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis |
| Serving the Website, keeping it secure, detecting abuse | a) Website visitor data | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): running a secure website |
| Understanding how the Website is used | b) Analytics data | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): knowing how many people reach the Website and which pages they read, counted without cookies or identifiers |
| Selling and delivering licenses, issuing invoices | c) Purchase data | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)); legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) for accounting and tax records |
| Limiting the free trial to one per computer | d) Trial data | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): preventing misuse of the trial |
| Activating and deactivating licenses | e) Activation data | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Offering you a newer version of the App | g) Update check data | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): keeping the App current and secure |
| Answering your questions and providing support | f) Correspondence | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) or legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in responding to inquiries |
Do you have to provide your data? Providing purchase data is necessary to buy a license; without it, no sale can take place. Website visitor data is recorded automatically. Everything else is optional: analytics only with your consent, correspondence only if you write to us.
We do not use your data for direct marketing, we do not build profiles, and we make no automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
We share personal data only with the service providers below, each of which processes it on our behalf or as an independent controller under its own privacy policy, and only to the extent described.
| Recipient | Role | What | Where |
| Our merchant of record: Lemon Squeezy (Link, LLC, a Stripe company) | Seller of record for license sales; license activation service | Purchase data, activation data | United States |
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosts the Website, the trial server and the contact-form relay; counts visits to the Website; checks that the contact form is filled in by a person; registers our domain and receives mail sent to [email protected] | Trial data (hashed identifier and date); correspondence in transit; a bot-detection signal from your browser when you send the contact form | EU/United States, per Cloudflare's data-localisation settings |
| Resend, Inc. | Delivers messages sent through the contact form, and our replies to you | Correspondence (subject, message, your email address if given) | EU (Ireland region); Resend, Inc. is a United States company |
| YouTube (Google) | Hosts the demo video, embedded in privacy-enhanced mode | Nothing until you press play; then YouTube's policy applies | EU/United States |
Links to other sites. The Website links to our Instagram and YouTube channels and to Lemon Squeezy's checkout. Those sites process data under their own privacy policies; we only link to them and receive nothing from your visit there.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, for example to tax authorities or on a lawful request from a public authority.
Transfers outside the EEA. Where a recipient is in the United States, the transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified under it, and otherwise on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for details of the safeguard that applies.
| Data | Retention |
| Website visitor data (server logs) | We receive none and keep none; Cloudflare processes request data for the Website under its own policy |
| Analytics data | Cloudflare keeps the full record for 7 days, then a reduced sample; we can see the past six months |
| Purchase data received from Lemon Squeezy | 10 years from the end of the year of purchase, as required by Slovak accounting and tax law |
| Trial data | For as long as the trial system operates, so that the same computer cannot start a second trial. It is pseudonymous: we hold nothing that links the hash to a person |
| Activation data | For as long as the license is active, plus the retention period of Lemon Squeezy |
| Correspondence | Until your request is resolved, then up to 2 years in case you write again, then deleted |
The Website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Visitor numbers come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts a visit without cookies; the demo video is embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, which sets none until you play it.
We keep personal data to a minimum and hold it only where it is needed. The trial server stores a one-way hash rather than the identifier itself. Purchase data lives with Lemon Squeezy, which is PCI DSS compliant, and we receive no payment details. Correspondence is kept in a password-protected mailbox with two-factor authentication. The App stores its license record on your computer only.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the scale of what we hold.
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity, for example by writing from the email address used for your purchase.
The supervisory authority in Slovakia is the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej Republiky), Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27, dataprotection.gov.sk. You may also complain to the authority in the EU country where you live, or, if you live in the United Kingdom, to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
The Website and the App are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy when the Website, the App or the law changes. The effective date at the top shows the current version. If a change is significant, we will say so on the Website. Continued use after a change means the new version applies.

This End User License Agreement (the "Agreement") is a legal agreement between you, either an individual or a single legal entity ("you"), and StageDAW, Company ID (IČO) 53177631, whose full details are in section 14 ("StageDAW", "we"), for the StageDAW software application, including every DAW edition contained in it, its documentation and any update we provide (the "Software").
By installing, copying or using the Software you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software. If you accept on behalf of a legal entity, you confirm that you are authorized to bind it. You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to accept this Agreement.
"DAW" means a digital audio workstation supported by the Software: Logic Pro, Ableton Live or REAPER.
"License Key" means the code issued to you on purchase, or issued by StageDAW free of charge, that activates the Software.
"Computer" means a single physical computer under your control.
"Show" means a setlist file created and saved by the Software.
"Trial" means use of the Software under section 3 without a License Key.
"Consumer" means a natural person acting for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession.
2.1 Grant. Subject to this Agreement and to payment of the license fee, StageDAW grants you a personal, non-exclusive, perpetual license to install and use the Software on up to two Computers, for any purpose, including commercial use and paid performances. The license covers every DAW edition contained in the Software, on either platform.
2.2 Computers and activation. A license covers two Computers, and the Software may be active on both at the same time. The Software must be activated on each Computer with your License Key. Activation records an identifier of the Computer with the license service run by our merchant of record (currently Lemon Squeezy, a Stripe company). Deactivating the Software on a Computer, using the Deactivate function in the Software, frees that slot immediately for another Computer. If a Computer is lost or stolen, or has failed, and cannot be deactivated from within the Software, write to [email protected] and StageDAW will release the slot.
2.3 Versions. Your License Key entitles you to every version of the Software we release, at no further charge. It does not extend to separate products StageDAW may offer under another name.
2.4 Backup. You may keep copies of the Software installer for backup purposes.
2.5 Transfer. You may transfer your license permanently to another person or legal entity, free of charge. To do so, deactivate the Software on every Computer, then write to [email protected] from the email address used at purchase, quoting the order number and giving the name and email address of the new holder. The transfer takes effect when StageDAW confirms it in writing; from then on the new holder is bound by this Agreement, you retain no rights under it, and you must delete any copies of the Software you hold.
2.6 Complimentary licenses. A License Key issued free of charge, for example for review, education or testing, is subject to this Agreement in the same way as a purchased one, except that it may not be transferred.
3.1 Without a License Key, you may use the Software free of charge for a period of 30 days beginning when you first select Start Trial. The Trial has every feature of the licensed Software and may be used for any purpose permitted by section 2.1, including paid performances. One Trial is available per Computer.
3.2 On expiry of the Trial, the Software ceases to communicate with your DAW. Shows may still be opened, edited and saved, and the Software becomes fully functional again once a License Key is activated. All other terms of this Agreement apply during the Trial. Trial rights may not be transferred.
You may not do, and may not permit anyone else to do, any of the following:
5.1 The Software controls your DAW; it does not process audio and is not part of the audio signal path. It acts on the information the DAW reports to it. Whether a command takes effect, and when, depends on the DAW, the operating system and the Computer, none of which StageDAW controls.
5.2 You are solely responsible for verifying, before any live performance, that the Software operates correctly with the DAW version, project and Computer you will use, and for maintaining backups of your files and an alternative means of running your performance.
5.3 The Software is not designed, tested or licensed for use in any application in which its failure could lead to death, personal injury or damage to property, including the control of pyrotechnics, rigging, moving stage machinery or safety systems. You may not use it for such purposes.
The Software is licensed, not sold. StageDAW and its licensors retain all right, title and interest in the Software, including all intellectual property rights. Third-party open-source components in the Software are licensed under their own terms, listed in the Third-party notices at stagedaw.com. You retain all rights in the Shows and other content you create with the Software. Logic Pro, Ableton Live and REAPER are the products of their respective owners, supplied under their own terms; StageDAW is independent of and not endorsed by them.
7.1 StageDAW may release updated versions of the Software from time to time. The Software may check at startup, if your Computer is online, whether a newer version is available at stagedaw.com, and offers to download it; it never downloads or installs a version without your confirmation. Nothing in this Agreement obliges StageDAW to release updates, to add features or to maintain compatibility with future versions of any DAW or operating system.
7.2 Support is provided by email at [email protected] on a reasonable-efforts basis. No response time is guaranteed.
7.3 StageDAW may stop developing, selling or supporting the Software at any time. A license you already hold is not affected: the Software continues to work, and activation and deactivation remain available for as long as the license service operates. Should the license service be discontinued, StageDAW will make reasonable efforts to provide another way to activate the Software.
8.1 The Software transmits data in three cases only: a one-way hash of your Computer's hardware identifier when you start the Trial, your License Key and Computer name when you activate or deactivate a license, and the name and version of the Software when it checks for a newer version at startup. It transmits no Shows, project data, audio or usage information. Once activated, the Software does not need an internet connection to run. Details are set out in the Privacy Policy, available at stagedaw.com.
8.2 The Software may verify with the license service that a License Key is valid. A License Key found to have been shared, resold, refunded or otherwise used in breach of this Agreement may be revoked, after which the Software ceases to communicate with your DAW as it does on expiry of the Trial.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. StageDAW does not warrant that the Software will operate without interruption or error, that it will function with every version of a DAW, every project or every Computer, or that defects will be corrected. The Trial exists so that you can assess the Software in your own environment before purchase. Nothing in this section limits the rights of Consumers under the law of their country of residence, including EU law on the conformity of digital content; see also section 10.5.
10.1 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StageDAW shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profit, revenue, fees, bookings, data or goodwill, or for any interrupted, delayed or abandoned performance, rehearsal or recording, or any missed or mistimed cue, arising out of or in connection with the Software or this Agreement, however caused and under any theory of liability, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
10.2 StageDAW's total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Software or this Agreement shall not exceed the amount you paid for the license.
10.3 Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law. If you are a Consumer, nothing in this Agreement affects the statutory rights you have under the law of the country in which you live.
10.5 Consumers everywhere. If you are a Consumer, nothing in sections 9 and 10 limits any right that the law of your country of residence gives you and does not allow to be limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or the limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so parts of sections 9 and 10 may not apply to you. For Consumers in Australia: our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
10.4 You will indemnify StageDAW against any third-party claim, and the reasonable costs of dealing with it, arising from your breach of this Agreement or from use of the Software in breach of section 5.3.
11.1 Licenses are sold by our merchant of record, currently Lemon Squeezy (a Stripe company), acting as authorized reseller under its own Buyer Terms (lemonsqueezy.com/buyer-terms). Your contract of sale is with the merchant of record; this Agreement governs your use of the Software, and the merchant of record grants you no rights in it.
11.2 The License Key is delivered by email immediately on purchase; the Software is downloaded from stagedaw.com.
11.3 You may cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the License Key, for any reason, and we will refund what you paid. Write to [email protected] with the order number, or contact Lemon Squeezy directly. Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, handles the refund and pays it back to the card or account you used. A refunded License Key is revoked. After 14 days, license fees are not refundable — the Trial allows the Software to be evaluated in full before purchase — except where the law requires it, where Lemon Squeezy refunds you under its own terms, or where the Software fails to perform as described at stagedaw.com and StageDAW is unable to remedy the failure within a reasonable time.
12.1 This Agreement takes effect when you first install or use the Software and continues until terminated.
12.2 You may terminate it at any time by deactivating the license and deleting all copies of the Software.
12.3 StageDAW may terminate this Agreement if you breach it and, where the breach can be remedied, do not remedy it within 14 days of being asked to. Sharing, selling or otherwise passing on a License Key in breach of section 4, and use in breach of section 5.3, cannot be remedied, and StageDAW may terminate with immediate effect. On termination you must cease all use and delete all copies of the Software; no refund is due.
12.4 Sections 6, 9, 10, 12.3 and 13 survive termination.
13.1 Governing law. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
13.2 Jurisdiction and disputes. The courts of the Slovak Republic have jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of this Agreement. If you are a Consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may also bring proceedings in its courts. A Consumer resident in Slovakia may submit a dispute to alternative dispute resolution under Act No. 391/2015 Coll.; the competent body is the Slovak Trade Inspection (Slovenská obchodná inšpekcia, www.soi.sk) or another authorized entity listed by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic. StageDAW will try to resolve any complaint directly first; write to [email protected].
13.3 Entire agreement. This Agreement is the entire agreement between you and StageDAW concerning the Software and supersedes any prior agreement or representation. The Privacy Policy and the Third-party notices are available at stagedaw.com; the merchant of record's Buyer Terms govern the sale.
13.4 Severability. If any provision of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force, and the invalid provision is replaced by a valid one that comes closest to its intent.
13.5 Waiver. A failure by StageDAW to enforce any provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
13.6 Assignment. You may not assign this Agreement or the license except by a transfer under section 2.5. StageDAW may assign this Agreement, and the license service behind it, to a successor to the business; any such assignment will be announced at stagedaw.com and will not affect your rights.
13.7 Changes. StageDAW may revise this Agreement for future versions of the Software. The version accepted on installation applies to that version; a revision will not reduce the number of Computers or the range of versions your license covers.
13.8 Language. This Agreement is written in English. Any translation is for convenience only; the English text prevails.
